[Townley] had previously employed Claire McCardell who had just died. Donald was the heir apparent for this company and he had started turning out dresses the likes of which were absolutely incredible.

All the girls just absolutely fell in love with the Donald Brooks' clothes. He was then working for a company called Darbury.

He then went on to work in the theater, which of course, was not for the average consumer. He did special clothes for celebrities but for the consumer, his stay at Townley was all too brief. What he exemplified seems to have been lost in today's world in the area of design.
