Star Designers Archiving

Archives and inventory documentation are some of the most valuable resources to a designer. We believe this is an artistic as well as an organizational process. more

Research Based
The archival process builds off the early research. The inventory notes are used to identify features of the garment to highlight, if any. We also refer to conversations with the owner for further direction in this process.

Digital Record
We use a digital workflow that dramatically shortens the time required to produce a visual record of each garment in the inventory. In most cases, we are able to document about 60 garments in one week. Additional time is required for artistic renditions of particular garments and for details.

This process also includes scanning images from the designer's portfolio, notebooks and other sources. We also scan or transcribe selected articles.

Publicity
The images produced during this process can be used for a wide variety of printed material. This can range from brochures and invitations to magazine articles and books.
Online Book and Archive
We are also skilled at producing online books based on this material. The online book supports an exhibit and does more than record particular images. It serves as a permanent and archive for designer's work. Ultimately, this is one of the most important vehicles available to the designer to preserve their work.
